We are offering entrepreneurs and SMEs across North East England a chance to secure up to £15,000 worth of specialist business support to help transform their business ideas into reality.
The bespoke support package will be awarded to up to three prestart-ups and three trading SMEs which are working on innovative business propositions with high growth potential, preferably connected to one of Newcastle’s three science growth areas of sustainability, ageing & health or stem cell & regenerative medicine.
What is NSC offering?
The successful applicants will receive up to £15K worth of bespoke business support to help take their idea to market or to the next stage of investment. The support services could include market research, prototyping, business planning, design work, marketing, sales lead generation, software development, legal support and intellectual property protection.
Who is eligible?
Applications are invited from businesses or individuals based in, or planning to be based in, North East England.

Ged McGonnell, MD of Newcastle-based medical device developer G-MED UK was a previous recipient of this award.
He said: “If it hadn’t been for Newcastle Science City then our products would still just be pictures on a computer screen. The support we’ve received over the past six months has enabled us to accelerate our ideas from the concept stage into physical products that are ready to be peer reviewed and clinically trialled before we move into manufacture.”
