First Call for Proposals for the BIRAX Regenerative Medicine

We are delighted to announce the First Call for Proposals for the BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative.
We invite proposals for joint research projects between the UK and Israel in regenerative medicine; awards will be granted for up to £400,000 over 3 years.
Collaborative proposals are welcome from researchers (Principal Investigators) holding a position in academic institutions, research hospitals and research institutions in either country.
The BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative aims to strengthen academic collaboration between the UK and Israel, develop advanced regenerative medicine therapies including both their discovery and translation and establish UK/Israel as a leading partnership in regenerative medicine.
The UK and Israel are natural partners in science. The BIRAX Regenarative Medicine Initiative will nurture ambitious joint research between the UK and Israel which will deliver tangible scientific outcomes whilst building trust and understanding.
The new BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative is a five year programme of research which will strengthen scientific and academic cooperation between the UK and Israel through:
- Collaborative projects between British and Israeli academic institutions
- A fellowship programme
- Conferences and seminars
The BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative is focusing on the great potential in scientific collaboration between the UK and Israel. This vision has been strongly endorsed and directed by the UK/Israel Life Sciences Council, a group of 19 leading scientisits from both countries. The group contains four Nobel Prize winners, three members of the House of Lords, Presidents of universities, and some of the most eminent and distinguished scientists in the world.
