BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics has a particular interest in Parkinson’s disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and spinal cord injuries, and are focused on developing neurotrophic factor secreting cells from the patient's own bone marrow. They do this by isolating mesenchymal stem cells and inducing them to differentiate into cells that release neurotrophic factors, which are then transplanted back into the site of the injury/degeneration.
They are now seeking UK commercial and academic partners who might have an interest in further developing the technology, or using it within their own work.
