White Rose DTC TERM Doctoral Training Centre in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine

If you have any partnering opportunities for Regener8 members, please contact us.

DTC TERM is a collaborative PhD training programme in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine funded by EPSRc and BBSRC, which will support the training and development of 50 PhD students in engineering and physical sciences between 2008 and 2016. It is run by academics in the Universities in the Leeds, Sheffield and York. Each interdisciplinary PhD project is supervised by an engineer/physical scientist and a life scientist. Appendix one lists the current academics involved and their universities. The projects are fully funded by EPSRC. A list of projects currently on offer to students and ones being undertaken by the first traunch of six students is shown in appendix two.

The opportunity for collaborative projects and working

We have an opportunity to initiate collaborative industry PhD projects for the DTC. These can be of one, two or three years duration. The support required for these from industry are:

  • One year £7k
  • Two years £14k
  • Three years £21k

We envisage three separate routes for industry to engage in the collaborative projects

  • Collaborating on existing projects defined in appendix 2
  • Approaching academics in appendix 1 to discuss potential additional collaborative projects
  • Identifying areas of interest and the DTC directorate will attempt to put you in touch with appropriate academic area.
